Seiichi Furuya – Andreas Murkudis Store

In Zusammenarbeit mit Andreas Murkudis stellt die Galerie Thomas Fischer Werke des japanischen Fotografen Seiichi Furuya aus dessen Serie "Mémoires" aus. Die Ausstellungseröffnung findet am 25. April von 18-21h im Andreas Murkudis Store in der Potsdamer Str. 81 statt.

"Mémoires" kombiniert Porträts von Furuyas Frau Christine, sowie Dokumente gemeinsamer Reisen und Wohnorte, und zeigt ein lebendiges Zusammenspiel zwischen Privatem und Öffentlichem, zwischen persönlicher Vision und dokumentarischer Distanz auf. Furuyas Arbeiten sind in Sammlungen wie der Berlinischen Galerie, dem Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, dem MoMA New York und dem Sprengel Museum, Hannover vertreten. Weitere Informationen.

In collaboration with Andreas Murkudis, Galerie Thomas Fischer will be exhibiting work from the “Mémoires” series by Japanese photographer Seiichi Furuya. The opening reception will be held at Andreas Murkudis Store, Potsdamer Str. 81, on 25 April from 6–9 pm.

Combining portraits of Furuya's wife Christine and documents of their travels and places of residence, “Mémoires” features a vivid interplay between the private and public, between personal vision and documentary detachment. Furuya’s work is represented in collections such as those at the Berlinische Galerie, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, MoMA New York, and Sprengel Museum, Hannover. More information.
